Created out of the legacy of the couple for which it is named, the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art has a permanent collection of about 10,000 art works and pieces, a number of which are displayed throughout the museum's 21 gallery areas. These galleries feature European paintings, Asian art and American art, and the estate's 66 acres also include a circus museum, where costumes, performance equipment, wagons and other artifacts speaking to the history of the circus are showcased. Also on site is the waterfront mansion that was home to the Ringling family and a lush rose garden, as well as a live theater space and a restaurant. The estate is surrounded by the campus of the University of South Florida-Sarasota/Manatee and abuts the Sarasota Bay.
Open daily 10:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
