We used to go to Captain Brians before they expanded and we would wait for a table; they expanded their restaurant significantly a while ago and we still wait for a table and that is because it is so worth it. We enjoy their lunch offerings and their extensive selection of fresh fish. You will too.

I ate there twice and each time the fish was fresh, good, well cooked. Salad bar is ok. The place is usually very crowded and there is a long wait. (During snowbird f.o.p.season) But once the meal comes it is worth it.

Captain Brian's serves some of the freshest seafood around! The restaurant, located adjacent to the Sarasota Bradenton Airport, is connected to a take-out market and serves meals in an extremely simple but very clean dining room. The menu changes depending on what is fresh, and you can order your fish grilled, broiled, or blackened. All meals come with a very good salad bar (try the mussels!) and potato and nondescript vegetable. Highlights include the swordfish and salmon but be forwarned, sometimes it may be a little overcooked. Be sure to save room for some of the best key lime pie in the area! Most of the clientele seem to be older folks, but the restaurant is very informal and they are accomodating to children.

The fish is fresh and flavorful. The service is quick and courteous. The "decor" is humble at best. Ultimately, the food and service prevails.
